North Bay Fires
In early October, multiple fires ravaged the homes of many Santa Rosa Police Officers’ and their families. As the fires ripped through our community in the early morning hours, many made it out the door with only the clothes on their backs. As the multiple heavily populated neighborhoods burned to the ground, some of these brave men and women split from their families to answer the call to protect and serve our city. As the fires continued to burn and their lungs filled with the smell of smoke, Santa Rosa Police Officers worked tirelessly to help save and protect those affected by this devastating fire.
Among the 3,000+ structures destroyed across the region are the homes of some of Santa Rosa Police Officer. These families are now faced with the realization that they have lost everything. In the places where their homes and local business once stood there is now seemingly nothing but ash. Their homes, vehicles, every photo, every tangible memory, practically every possession, gone in the blink of an eye. This devastating truth is their new reality. We commend their immeasurable hours of work in our community and want to support them during their time of need.
Our thoughts and prayers are with our brothers and sisters in blue and the many others in our community who will be rebuilding their lives in the weeks and months ahead.
