Hello all,
The Santa Rosa Police Department is facing a staffing shortage. As you will see on the attached photos, our city continues to grow and crime continues to increase, but our staffing continues to decrease. Although we look forward to welcoming our new police officer trainees on December 14, 2021, the reality is these new officers are replacing officers who have left or will be leaving the profession by the time the trainees finish the training program. Due to the staffing issues our department is facing, we simply do not have enough officers to handle the number of calls for service that come in each day. Our department will soon not have the ability to respond to certain calls for service. This unfortunately will impact the citizens of Santa Rosa. In order to make a change, we need your support. If you believe the Citizens of Santa Rosa deserve more officers to continue a high level of service, this is your chance to help and voice your support. On Wednesday, December 8th 2021, at 9:00 a.m., there will be a Public Safety Sub Committee Meeting. One of the topics of this meeting is the changes being made to what calls the Santa Rosa Police Department will be responding to. The agenda item number is 5.3 Please email pss-comment@srcity.org or leave a voice message at 707-543-4622 by 5:00 pm on December 6th, 2021.
